ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENT

Anti-wrinkle injections work by relaxing facial muscles so that existing lines are softened, and new lines are prevented, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

Toxin injections significantly reduce lines that appear with movement (dynamic lines). Results can vary depending on the quality of your skin, amount administered and may require a course of treatment over time. Static lines that are visible at rest without expression are not affected by toxin and so will remain present even after treatment, although are often softened.

Botulinum neurotoxin A works by temporarily blocking signals between facial nerves and muscles, relaxing and preventing muscle contractions which create fine lines and wrinkles. 

The most common areas treated with toxin are the frown lines, forehead, and crows feet lines around the eyes. Other areas include bunny lines, upper lip lines, the masseter muscles for jaw slimming, and underarm for excessive sweating. 

Very fine needles are used so minimal discomfort is caused. Maximal effects are seen at 2 weeks with movement of the muscle beginning to recover from about 8 weeks. Results last on average 3-4 months. Many studies and over 40 years of use, have shown that Botulinum toxin injections are safe and effective if used by highly trained, experienced practitioners.
